But he is 66 and the idea of a possible remodel of the Seattle Seahawks is lingering heading into the offseason. The Seahawks entered the final week needing help to reach the playoffs for a sixth straight season. Seattle needs to beat Arizona and have Carolina beat Atlanta to claim a wild-card berth.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported Sunday that Carroll was considering retirement. That was quickly debunked by the coach himself, who took the Twitter before heading out to the field for pregame warmups that as usual included Carroll playing catch with members of Seattle's coaching staff.
Carroll signed a contract extension before the 2016 season that runs through 2019.
