In their ninth game of the season, the Atlanta Falcons' offense finally scored a touchdown in the third quarter.
Matt Ryan connected with Justin Hardy for a 3-yard TD pass on Atlanta's opening possession of the second half against the Dallas Cowboys, capping an impressive 75-yard drive that pushed the Falcons to a 17-7 lead.

It was a rarity, for sure.
The Falcons had struggled badly in the third quarter all season, their lone touchdown coming way back in Week 2 when Desmond Trufant returned a fumble 15 yards for a score against Green Bay.
Coming into Sunday, the Falcons had been outscored 44-19 in the period, with only one field goal to show for their last five games. That was a big reason behind Atlanta losing four of those games.
