Indianapolis Colts running back Frank Gore and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers reached career milestones Sunday.

And found themselves in good company.

Gore ran into the record book in the fourth quarter of the Colts' victory against Houston, becoming just the fifth player to surpass 14,000 yards rushing in NFL history.

In his 13th season -- the first 10 with San Francisco -- Gore joined Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders and Curtis Martin, all Hall of Famers, in the rarefied club. 

The 34-year-old Gore needed 74 yards entering the game. surpassed the mark on his 18th carry with about 11:15 to go in the game. 

Rivers became the ninth quarterback in NFL history with 50,000 passing yards.

Rivers joined Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Dan Marino, Eli Manning, John Elway and Ben Roethlisberger in the 50k club.
