Tennessee Titans defensive back Kevin Byard is showing the NFL the same ball-hawking skills that he displayed in college.

The former third-round draft pick from Middle Tennessee had a school-record 19 interceptions in his college career and returned four of them for touchdowns.

He’s translated that success to the pro ranks.

The second-year pro recorded his fifth interception of the season Sunday in the first quarter of the Titans’ game with the Baltimore Ravens. That enabled Byard to tie Buffalo’s Micah Hyde for the league lead.

He then picked off another pass in the third quarter to overtake Hyde for the NFL lead.
