SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A judge has dismissed a misdemeanor child annoyance case against a high school biology teacher and former pro football player who was accused of hugging and kissing a former student at school. City News Service reports 63-year old Joseph Manuel Orduna wept with joy when Orange County Superior Court William Evans issued the ruling Wednesday. The dismissal came two days after jurors deadlocked 8-4 in favor of acquittal, forcing a mistrial. Evans said he did not believe another trial would lead to a guilty verdict. Orduna was a teacher and wrestling coach at Godinez Fundamental High School in Santa Ana. He played three years in the NFL for the New York Giants and Baltimore Colts.
