ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Dome officials say a 46-year-old Villa Rica man has been arrested in a stabbing near the Georgia Dome following the Falcons' NFC Championship loss.

Jason Kirksey, Georgia Dome spokesman, says James Lewis McCoy was arrested Tuesday afternoon by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority Police Department.

The stabbing happened around 6:40 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot outside the Georgia dome. Although initial reports indicated the incident was a dispute between football fans, officials Tuesday said neither McCoy nor the stabbing victim attended the game. Kirksey says the stabbing may have stemmed from an argument over food during a tailgate party outside the Georgia Dome.

The 35-year-old victim has not been identified, but authorities say the man is in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
