MIAMI (AP) — Prosecutors have dropped a battery charge against Miami Dolphins reserve defensive back Jonathon Amaya, clearing him of allegations that he choked a cab driver. Amaya was arrested in November hours after the Dolphins victory over the Seattle Seahawks. He was accused of attacking and choking a South Beach taxi driver. Court records show that Miami-Dade County prosecutors notified the court Jan. 11 that the case would not move forward. A message left Wednesday for Amaya's attorney was not immediately returned. He played in 12 games in 2012, mostly on special teams.
