GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Former Clemson coach Danny Ford and ex-NFL coach Sam Wyche will take part in the first-ever South Carolina All-Star Bowl next spring.

Organizers announced the contest Monday.

The game will pit teams of the top senior collegiate players who played for state teams or who are from the state against each other at North Greenville's Younts Stadium on March 23rd. Ford will coach the Upper State team while former South Carolina State coach Willie Jeffries will lead the Lower State team.

Wyche will serve as the game's commissioner. He said players have a last chance to play before South Carolina fans. He said the game's date was set to attract NFL scouts since it comes after the league's prospect combine and before the pro football draft.
