EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — New England wide receiver Julian Edelman has left the Patriots' game against the New York Jets with a head injury and will not return. Edelman was injured in the third quarter Thursday night on a helmet-to-helmet hit by LaRon Landry on an end around. The receiver fumbled on the play. Edelman returned a fumble 22 yards for a touchdown and caught a 56-yard pass for a score in the Patriots' 35-point second quarter before leaving with the injury. Jets wide receiver Clyde Gates also left the game with a head injury and will not return. He was hurt after a 9-yard catch just before halftime on a hard hit by Kyle Arrington. Both players were shaken up, but walked gingerly off the field. Gates was taken immediately to the locker room.
